What would you do if your daughter or mother or wife was raped and murdered by a traveling door-to-door salesman and the same company that hired this killer hired more convicted criminals to rape and kill? We do not need our privacy rights violated by total strangers knocking on our doors at all hours of the day and night. We do not need to be threatened or lied to by a total stranger trying to sell us overpriced magazines, cleaner products or vacuum cleaners It is time to crush this unethical, immoral, and sinister industry once and for all. It is time for the United States Congress to pass powerful regulatory laws that protect our loved ones from this growing ominous cancer. Our organization has documented and logged over 300 high profile criminal felonies and 86 deaths directly linked to the direct selling industry. Fraud, burgulary, sexual assault, rape, murder, and vehicular homicide are all very much a part of the traveling door-to-door sales industry. On March 26, 2009 the state of Wisconsin passed the most powerful anti door-to-door solicitation legislation in the country. The SB-4 legislation named after an 18 year old girl (Malinda Turvey) who was killed along with six other young kids while selling magazines door-to-door in Wisconsin on March 25, 1999, 'Malinda's Traveling Sales Crew Protection Act' will become active on April 10, 2010. We are asking the federal government and every state in the union to follow Wisconsin's lead and help end this national tradgety before more innocent lives are lost.
