A group of young door-to-oor magazine salespeople who recently came to Butte had a second brush with the law after flipping their van on Interstate 15 north of Butte late Tuesday.

The group of 11 people were returning from a day of selling magazines in Helena when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it flipped into the medi an at Milepost 143, according to Montana Highway Patrolman Chris Costello.

Witnesses said the van was traveling at a high rate of speed, and the roads were icy, according to reports.

The driver, Bobby Thompson, 18, of Mountainville, Pa., was cited for having a blood alcohol content of more than .02 per cent while younger than 21 and driving a vehicle. He was also cited for careless driving and driving without a license.

Christian Ilsley, 21, of Denver, was cited for purchasing alcohol and providing it to minors.

All of the van's occupants were taken to St. James Healthcare, where they were treated and released.

Earlier this week, four members of the group pleaded guilty in Butte Justice Court to being itiner ant vendors without a license to do business. Eric Baltrush, Jeff Stout, Francis Murphy and Robert Allen were fined $270.

Jakob Berlingeri pleaded guilty to violating child labor laws and endangering the welfare of a child for having a 15-year-old girl working for him after he encouraged her to runaway from her Seattle home.
