A man who had been charged with robbing two people in a local credit union's parking lot in August was sentenced Tuesday to up to five years in prison.

Adam N. Sisk, 20, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony attempted robbery, reduced from robbery. Court documents were filed in Hall County District Court on Wednesday afternoon.

District Judge James Livingston sentenced Sisk to two years, six months to five years in prison. In exchange for his guilty plea, a charge of carrying a concealed knife was dismissed.

Sisk was also sentenced to one year in prison for misdemeanor aiding and abetting attempted escape, reduced from a felony, for an Oct. 30 incident at the Hall County Jail. He will serve that sentence at the same time as the one for attempted robbery.

Sisk and Jeffrey L. Ritter, 22, were charged with robbing Heather Marker, 23, of 2013 30th St. and David Galvan, 16, of Central City as they sat in a vehicle in the Central Nebraska Federal Credit Union's parking lot at 609 S. Locust St. on Aug. 6.

The men claimed to have guns and demanded Marker's rings and Galvan's money and lighter, prosecutors said. Ritter also threatened to rape and kill Marker during the robbery.

Neither man has a permanent address. They told Hall County Judge David Bush during their initial appearances on Aug. 10 that they were selling magazines door to door and were staying at the Relax Inn, 507 W. Second St. They both also said they were originally from Minnesota.

When Sisk was arrested, police also arrested Jeremy Ritter, Jeffrey Ritter's brother, mistaking him for the man involved in the robbery. The Ritters are identical twins with matching teardrop tattoos on their faces.

No charges were filed against Jeremy Ritter.

Jeffrey Ritter was charged with robbery, terroristic threats and attempted first-degree sexual assault. He pleaded no contest on Jan. 5 to the attempted sexual assault charge. In exchange, the robbery and terroristic threats charges were dismissed.

District Judge Teresa Luther will sentence Ritter at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 22.
